Dear Parent/Guardian:
What is Acuity?
Acuity (CTB-McGraw Hill) provides clear and immediate information on student strengths and weaknesses to help teachers target instruction and measure students’ progress toward state learning standards. Acuity aligns to our state’s standards and offers targeted instructional materials for your child.
I have assigned individualized instruction based on your child’s performance in any or all of the following:
· 2011 NYS exam
· 2011 Performance Series’ online assessment
· 2012 ELA/MATH Predictive
· Personal observations of student work
The assigned work targets areas in which your child needs improvement to meet grade level expectations.
Each online assessment begins with a mini-lesson, followed by an interactive piece, and concludes with approximately 6 questions. The results will be displayed immediately and I will be able to monitor students’ progress online.
I hope that you will take advantage of this new educational tool. Once you log in with your child’s credentials, you will see that you have several options.
To complete any assigned instructional materials, click Study and select ELA or Math.
Log on to Acuity from a home computer: https://nyc-acuity.mcgraw-hill.com
Your child’s individual User Name is: his or her first name and last name with no spaces
Your child’s individual Password is: his or her id #/osis #
To view your child’s reports on Acuity assessments, click View Reports, and select ELA or Math.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Roytblat
